Scrubs

Dr. Cox's wife: Isn't he an angel?

Dr. Cox (reaching into crib): Yeah.

Kid stirs.

Dr. Cox's wife: He's waking up!

They both duck and hide under crib.

You probably have to be a parent to get it. Cathy and I laughed a long, long time.

Other than that, Scrubs is getting kind of weak? The last two episodes weren't all that.

In other news, Sofi is showing mimetic desire. I'm reading *Mindful Parenting*, and she's grabbing at the pages. I try to give her another book (*Brave New World*, if anybody cares), and at first she's happy with that (although the pages are less resilient - *Mindful Parenting* just crumple, but *Brave New World* tears) but then she wants *Mindful Parenting* again.

Becca loves reading. This may sound great but like most things in this world, but... it's not a solitary introspective journey at her age. You will read the same book over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over then a different one over and over and over and over then back to the original one over and over and over and over again.

It's pretty cute watching them turn the pages and going "ahhhh" when they see things they like. Becca just recently tore Pat the Bunny apart she loved it so much.

Though it has been a few years since I've read it, I can still recite The Berenstain Bears' B Book from memory. I never quite got there with the A book or the C book but something about that big brown bear, blue bull just sticks with me -- probably because we sort of read it like the Beat poetry Mike Myers would do in "So I Married an Axe Murderer".

The other book I could do for a long while was Dr. Seuss ABC book, but that one has faded with time.

That's not something that changes.

The Boy is six, and reads to me these days. The same few things. Over and over and over.
